This is a process I developed after decades working in the job market. I hope you will review it and make a decision to set up a free consultation with me to discuss this in more detail and see if what I do makes sense for us to move forward with getting you where you need to be. I hope you will see that a key takeaway is that there is more to career development and change than searching a job board!
In this stage, I have you reflect on yourself and your skills and career desires. You will receive a free career questionnaire test to reveal what your key strengths and challenges are and we will analyze that together before moving on to the next phase.
During this phase, we will work together to use the outputs of your reflections to produce your career goals and make certain they also account for your personal work-life balance. We will also examine what you want to accomplish both short-term and long-term.
Career research is very important. This is where we will investigate your career options, narrow the focus to job descriptions and zero in on any organizations that you would be interested in working for. We will also do industry research to determine best fit.
This is the fun part! We'll work on your professional message to potential employers. We will talk about how to write your value proposition statement and use that to develop any branding collateral you would like. Finally, we will develop your "elevator pitch" to be used for networking opportunities.
More fun! In this phase, we will work together on the branding collateral you would like to develop including things like your resume, LinkedIn profile, portfolio of work, value proposition brochure, and even a professional website if that is a good fit your industry and networking goals. You must prepare for execution!
This phase focuses on finding the right job fit from actual position postings on the various job forums, organization websites and your networking results. We will work on interview preparation and do some role playing so I can give you feedback on your interview skills, style and good things to highlight from your job postings.
Even if you are still looking for that perfect job fit from the Execution phase, we will plan a career growth roadmap for where you see yourself over the next five years. We'll plot milestones and discover any certifications and additional skills needed to achieve your next steps.
For each phase of the process, you will receive two appointments with Michele:
1. The first appointment focuses on coaching for the current phase and preparing for producing the necessary outputs of the phase.
2. At the second appointment we will review any outputs for the phase and make necessary updates and have open discussion on anything you have questions about.
For these appointments, if you would like to meet once per week, that's great, if you would like to meet twice per week, that's just fine as well. We will move as moderately or quickly as you like! And my schedule is flexible to meet your needs. If you need more time on a particular phase, we can adjust our meetings accordingly. This process truly moves at your pace.
